Take time out for yourself

My birthday was in March and my girlfriend surprised me with a trip to The Wilderness in the Western Cape.

We took a 5 hour drive out of Cape Town to a beautiful remote location with some spectacular views of the lake and all she wanted me to do was to breathe and relax for a bit because she loves it when I slow down sometimes. Had the most incredible weekend and when I was on the flight home I realized that for all these several years that I had been building everything, I seldom took the time to just relax because I had been on a mission trying to establish everything and that itself could be a very dangerous thing and that’s what I wanted to put forward to you today.

During the journey of becoming, people tend to not only pick up some bad habits along the way but they also tend to forget to take care of themselves along the way. It really doesn’t matter what it is you are doing or what you are building I want you to know that YOU COME FIRST before the thing you are working on and that is something that you must never lose sight of. There must always be an exit strategy to the things you do because if you don’t own them, they will own you.

Take time out for yourself, never forget the things that you enjoy doing; enjoy the outdoors, take long walks and frequent yourself in nature because the world we are living in isn’t catered towards looking after us and so we have to do that for ourselves otherwise we must pay a price.

“Sometimes, doing nothing is also a form of action.”
